Millions of shells in a colossal accumulation, cover a long extension of the bay that has taken the name of that phenomenon, completely and whose beauty subdues all tourist. In the beach the thick of the layer of shells is very big, and the mantel even extends many meters toward out and on the big trees and bushes grow that in turn show an exquisite greenery, as well as its delicious shade. The beach is broken by what is recommended the swimmer to take cautions.

Located in the Province of Guanacaste, in Santa Cruz's Canton.

Two routes exist: Big Liberia-Guardia-Filadelfia-Matapalo-Huacas-Grande beach; or Santa Cruz-Belén-Matapalo-Huacas-Grande Grande. Both are paved until Huacas, for what is recommended to travel in vehicle of double traction. Beach Ventanas is part of the Park National Marine The Baulas, which protects also to Grande beach, an extensive coastal area where spawns the marine turtles Baula.

From the west of Grande beach you can arrive walking until the Ventanas and Carbón beaches. Also, it can ascend to the hill the Moro, skirted of platforms and rocky cliffs, in those which, while it lowers the tide, it is possible to observe small and colorful fishes.
